Incremental progress being the name of the lemon battery game, here's a big upgrade and good news for the project. Gone are the days where stabbing a lemon with nails and pennies gave us our scarce bits of power. We now have a working scale model for Project Lemon Battery solar powered web cam.
I got a huge box in the mail this week carrying my shiny new solar panels, and they're packing heat. 2.4 watts of it to be exact. While these are a far cry from the 200+ we'll need for the working camera, they show us how the system will work. An LED represents the power our camera will demand from the final panel/battery configuration. This scale model is going to be tested for what we hope is 2 months - these 4 AA batteries, with the help of the solar panels, should keep the little light burning all night and all day for at least 60 days.Build photos on flickr:
